Dana and Josh’s wedding in Lake Willoughby VT

We traveled from the Philadelphia area up to Vermont last week to document Dana and Josh’s wedding in Lake Willoughby VT, which is technically our first gig as “destination wedding photographers”!  What an amazing wedding, everything came together magically as family and guests worked hard to make every detail perfect.

We are so happy to have been invited to be their photographers, although we really felt like we were on vacation— we had so much fun swimming in the lake and hanging out in the improvised campground with guests, partying each night with everyone and dodging the rain that attempted to put a damper on the event.  Check out my favorite couple of photos from their wedding, below…

The site of their wedding ceremony and reception, the Notch House in Lake Willoughby, Vermont. There was an inspiring community effort at Dana and Josh’s wedding.   All of the amazing wedding details (wedding decorations, food, flowers, etc.) were created by their family and wedding guests. A nice big cold front moved through, about half way through their wedding ceremony.   Check out the Radar image from a guest’s laptop, below.   There were heavy rain and high winds.   Everyone simply moved into the tent and continued on, unfazed. After a while, the weather seemingly cleared up and we thought we might attempt a group shot of every wedding guest in attendance.   I had time to quickly line everyone up, and click the shutter exactly three times before the skies opened up!   No worries, we got the shot and everyone made it back to the tent just as the rain got heavy!
With all the rain the tent got a little muddy, which made for a great excuse for the wedding party to dance barefoot!   Check out the aftermath, bride and groom’s wedding attire caked in mud!
