This weekend we traveled to nearby Phoenixville to photograph Amanda and John’s wedding at Columbia Station. Columbia Station is a great place for a wedding, and we need to tip our hats and say thanks to Robert Ryan Catering for helping to make their wedding day truly amazing. The entire team at Robert Ryan Catering did a wonderful job, and their wedding coordinators were great to work with.
Amanda was starting her day at Columbia Station’s caboose with her bridesmaids while John got ready with a couple of his friends at a nearby hotel in Collegeville. I traveled out to the hotel for photos of John, while Genava stayed there at Columbia station for photos of Amanda getting ready. At the last minute, the call was made to have the wedding ceremony outdoors because the chance of rain was low. The sun was shining and we were excited to know that we would be photographing our first outdoor wedding of the 2013 season.
Their reception started and we were stoked to see that Vaughn Walter from Silver Sound Disc Jockeys was running the show. Vaughn is a fantastic DJ— just chatting with him about venue acoustics convinced me that he takes his craft very seriouslly, and a quick look at his bio page reveals that he’s DJ’ed over 750 weddings! We highly recommend Vaughn Walter from Silver Sound.
Amanda and John had a beautiful first dance, then all of the bridal party joined in at the end of their dance. Later, they had a unique spin on the old fashioned “dollar dance’ and went with a “donation dance” instead. Their guests could have one last dance with the bride or groom by donating to the Juvenile Diabetes charity JDRF. Overall, it was a beautiful wedding from start to finish, and we were thrilled to be there to document it.
On to our favorite couple of pictures, here’s a “sneak peek” of their wedding day…
