For Charlean and Dennis’ beautiful wedding we made a trek down to Chestertown Maryland, to her grandfather’s sprawling farm. Even though there was an imminent threat of rain due to arrive right for what was supposed to be a beautiful outdoor ceremony in front of the silo, and all the sunflowers they had planted along the lane died one week before the wedding, Charlean kept the important things in perspective and was positively beaming from ear to ear as I arrived. Charlean was so radiantly beautiful that she created her own little pocket of sunshine wherever she went.
They made a last minute decision to move the ceremony inside the tent they had rented, but afterwards we still had just enough time to fit in some beautiful bridal party and bride & groom photos around the property. Charlean and Dennis had packed so many thoughtful details in to every inch of the farm it was like a wonderful treasure hunt trying to find them all to document them! After that it was off to the reception, which was held in a tented area attached to an old barn that they had transformed in to an amazing bar and party space. As if on a timer, it started to pour buckets of rain just after we stepped inside for their introductions and first dance, we just added to the intimate feel of the space.
Even if the superstition of rain on your wedding day bringing good luck doesn’t turn out to be true, we are sure these two will have a long and happy marriage! Congratulations again Charlean and Dennis and we wish you many happy years together.
