Aubree & Dan’s wedding at the Brandywine Manor House was a perfect example of embracing the unexpected, and of the serendipity that happens when we are able to let go of what we thought we had planned and welcome events exactly as they unfold.
Even though our carefully crafted time line was thrown off immediately upon arrival, Dan, Aubree and the wonderful staff at Brandywine Manor house were accommodating and easy going, allowing us to quickly switch gears. When the timing of the ceremony was pushed back, and this meant that most of the last light of the day was spent greeting their guests in a receiving line, we refocused our aspirations of sunset photos with what we could best achieve at dusk and dark.
This was our first time at the gorgeous Brandywine Manor house, and we were absolutely blown away by the thoughtful details placed throughout the venue. There were beautiful vistas, and thoughtfully crafted spaces ideal for photos in every direction we turned, and we could hardly take enough photos to capture all of it! We moved throughout the day from spacious bride and grooms suites, with a gorgeous outdoor patio area, to taking photos in a historic barn that would later become the space for cocktail hour. The ceremony was set in front of a stunning natural backdrop, where guests eagerly watched a beaming Aubree come down a meandering path and over a footbridge to her equally ecstatic groom.
As night fell, twinkle lights, lanterns and lamps magically transformed the space. Thankfully there were more than enough beautiful spots to go around even after dark. After a super fun portrait session around the venue with Aubree and Dan, we were so grateful that the venue held off letting guests enter the reception room until we could get in there to take photos with Dan and Aubree. As we entered the tent, our breath was taken away. It was nothing short of magical, and watching Aubree and Dan giddily embrace in this space they had helped create was the highlight of our day.
It was a day and night I’m sure no one in attendance will ever forget, and we can only hope that the happiness Dan & Aubree share continues to multiply throughout the years.
