About a week ago I photographed 25 headshots for a local West Chester PA business. We had done some of their headshots in West Chester a few years back, but they were having a business conference up near King of Prussia, at a hotel, and they wanted to get everyone a headshots who was in attendance.
The best value for this business was to book a ‘Headshot Session’ which would allow me to create one portrait with each person back-to-back throughout the day. In other words, I could have about 15 minutes with each person, and efficiently make the best most flattering image of all 25 people in a set amount of time.
The process is, we set up in one area to shoot about 25 pictures of each person, and then ask them to select their favorite image for retouching. They all ended up with one fully-retouched image, which includes teeth whitening, blemish removal, and skin smoothing.
I was able to set up my mobile photography studio using a small area in an unused conference room. Each individual was scheduled in 15 minute intervals, so I was shooting headshot photos on my feet for several hours straight. Thankfully the people who made the schedule, set me up with a nice lunch break with food included, in the middle of the day!
I have a few tricks that I use to quickly get the best, most flattering expression out of everyone during a headshot session. The most effective trick that I use, is asking them to say a particular word or phrase that always makes people smile or slightly laugh while saying it.
I believe that these high volume headshot sessions are the best value for businesses to get updated headshots for their website and marketing needs.
