Megan and Nick got married on New Year’s Eve at Downingtown Country Club, it was a blast photographing their day and I always love the New Year’s Eve Weddings! Scroll on down the page to see their wedding from my perspective.
I started off the day photographing the bridesmaids getting ready in the bridal suite there in Downingtown Country Club. The hair and Makeup teams still had some time before they were going to be finished, so I checked in with the groomsmen in the Locker room area as they finished up with their outfits and details.
After the wedding outfits were all set, I took a few opportunities to capture some fun candid moments before the ‘first look’.
Even though it is the middle of winter, we got lucky and the weather was pretty warm. We set up for their ‘first look’ in front of Downingtown Country Club where they typically have the outdoor weddings. After that, the amazing staff at Downingtown drove us all around on the golf carts to make some portraits.
The thing about winter weddings is, you run out of daylight very early. We initially planned on the possibility of a golden hour portrait session from 3:30pm to around 4:30pm ‘sunset time’ but it was foggy and we got a moody ‘blue hour’ instead.
Next, we met up with the bridal party and did some night time group shots outside, and then another set of group shots inside the Country Club on the stairs and in front of the Christmas Tree.
Now that they got most of their wedding day portraits checked off their list, it was time to get married! The day started to fly by super fast so I just focused on capturing everything that happened at their wedding ceremony and reception.
This wedding was really a blast to photograph. Check out the fireworks!
