We recently joined Katy and Greg for their engagement session in Philadelphia. Coincidentally, we ran into Greg a few weeks prior, when he came bounding up to us mid-jog near the Philadelphia Museum of Art, while we were photographing another couple on their engagement session.
The weather for Katy and Greg’s engagement session could not have been more cooperative. It was sunny and mild, yet there was a perfect breeze that kicked up every once in awhile to create that perfect windblown hair effect. We started off by walking over to Logan square, where Greg and Katy told us the story of how Greg had proposed there.
Greg then suggested that he had seen a really good spot nearby, on another one of his jogs that he thought might work well for photos. Did we ever mention that we LOVE collaborating with our clients? We have definitely gotten some of our best work from hearing our clients creative ideas and working with them to make their vision come to life. At his recommendation we headed over to the new Barnes Foundation. If you haven’t seen it post-move, the new location is gorgeous- the architecture of the building is very unique and modern, and there were beautiful spots to photograph in every direction we turned. We could have easily spent more than just an hour there, but we decided to pop over to Greg and Katy’s for a quick costume change and then we took a cab over to the Olde City of Philadelphia. We took a few photos in Elfreth’s alley, and another very run down industrial street we like nearby, before wrapping up their engagement session on the Race Street pier under the Ben Franklin Bridge.
