We were both simultaneously super excited and also a little bit nervous about Lindsay and Mark’s wedding day. We were stoked that they had generously built in a ton of time in between the ceremony and reception to take lots of outdoors wedding portraits, and worried that the weather would not cooperate. Of course we had a back up rain plan, but I knew from many conversations with Lindsay and Mark that they really had a vision of sunny golden wedding photos.
Thankfully the weather for Lindsay and Mark’s wedding day could not have been more beautiful. There was still the warmth and vibrant light of summer, but a nice touch of fall just starting to hit the air which made things more comfortable to be in mid day. I started my day off with the ladies, and Lindsay’s beloved dog Bailey, at Lindsay’s parent’s beautiful house getting ready, while Wil was with the gents at Hotel Dupont.
After their ceremony in St. Patrick’s Church we made a stop in some nearby gardens to make some fun portraits of the bridal party and the newly married couple. We then headed over to the Dupont Country Club, where we still had time for even more photos with the couple, before they even started cocktail hour. Just towards the very end of their cocktail hour, the light started to get really beautiful and Lindsay and Mark graciously stepped away from their party one more time, which ended up producing some of our favorites from the day.
