Check out this live proposal and engagement session that I photographed a few days ago. The plan was for the couple to arrive on a hayride to this secluded part of Highland orchard and then Chris would ask Natalie to marry him. It was also spelled out on a nearby pumpkin, just in case he got tongue tied. I was stationed just about 30 yards away, hidden in a row of apple trees waiting to capture the whole thing, and thankfully Natalie never noticed me until afterwards so I didn’t spoil the surprise. After the surprise proposal, we had some time to make some portraits in the apple orchards.
On the way to this location, I had driven my car down a gravel road and noticed this amazing field of sunflowers. I asked them, and they were game for a couple more portraits in the sunflower field, so we headed up there and made a couple more pictures.
It had been a little bit cloudy, but just at that moment the sun came out!
