Wedding at The Lucy in Philadelphia – Briana & Pat

Briana & Pat got married in Philadelphia on a beautiful spring day and I was there to cover every moment.

I started my day at Briana’s parent’s house where the bridesmaids were all getting ready.

My second photographer was over with Pat and his groomsmen covering those moments as they got ready in his apartment.

I feel like the marketing department at Twisted Tea would be pleased with this casual product placement.

Their church was in Manayunk near where we shot their engagment portraits, back in the early fall.

During the Catholic ceremony, we photographed everything and anything that happened and also tried a few photography tricks to pass the time.  I made some panoramas of the interior of the church that I could stitch together later in Photoshop to make ultra-wide angle shots, and found some reflective surfaces to make a few abstract images.

Below is an example of a photo that you could not capture with a normal lens and camera, so I achieve this super-ultra wide angle shot by combining several images.

They are married now 🙂

Below is another example of an ultra wide composite image. To capture the full interior of the church I stitched together about 7 or 8 images in Photoshop.

Directly across the street from their church was a tiny little park that happened to have a tree that was still blossoming.  We used this spot for a quick couple of photos before everyone drove over to their reception at The Lucy which is located in downtown Philadelphia on Broad Street.

When we got to The Lucy, we had the plan to quickly set up this group shot at the bar and then let the bridal party go enjoy cocktail hour.  We then went outside to Broad street for a brief set of portraits with the bride and groom.

We did another short set of couple’s photos with Briana and Pat on the dance floor before the staff opened it up after cocktail hour.  I had a little 24″ softbox set up for the lighting, I love the way that some of these low light images came out.

Toasts were finished up and it was time for the parent dances.
