Bonnie’s wedding was like a dream come true. Set to the elegant back drop provided by the Manor House at Prophecy Creek it was full of thoughtful personal details about Bonnie and Mike. When I arrived, Bonnie excitedly showed me that she was able to bring both her Mother and Grandmother’s wedding dress along with her for us to photograph. Meanwhile, Wil was downstairs getting fun photos of the Groom, Groomsmen (and awesome Groomswoman, Mike’s sister Lindsey) enjoying their custom tailored cuff links.Bonnie and Mike knew just how to make every person in their lives feel special with thoughtful gifts to their bridal party, notes to their parents and future in laws, and even a priceless note addressed to Bonnie from their beloved cat Omen, giving his begrudging blessing to his “humans” having their day.
Due to some heavy rain, we were forced indoors for their first look, but I think that ended up making it even more tender and intimate. We explored the beautiful spaces in the Manor, then had some fun goofing around in their empty ceremony space, and even had some time for family and bridal party portraits before Bonnie & Mike officially walked down the aisle . I also think it’s pretty cool to note that they opted for an unplugged ceremony– it was a rare honor to be fully trusted to document the ceremony and it not only made for some beautiful photos, but it felt like everyone in attendance was truly tuned in to the moment, and connected with one another.
Luckily, the rain cleared up after Bonnie & Mike tied the knot and we were able to take a few portraits around the beautiful grounds surrounding the Manor House, before they were off to enjoy the party of their lives. Mike put out a cigar bar for the guests to enjoy, while Bonnie serenaded everyone with an epic rendition of “Shoop” by Salt-N-Pepa.
I hope our little sneak peek can live up to all the fun that was had. Congratulations Bonnie & Mike!
