Both Lisa and James are the types of people who would drop anything at a moments notice to help even people they’d just met, which is exactly why I think everything came together so beautifully on their wedding day at the Eden Resort in Lancaster, PA. Although we had spoken to Lisa and James extensively throughout the process of planning their wedding photos, we had never actually met in person. When we did finally encounter them in real life we instantly connected, and felt completely at ease with them, and I’d venture to say that the feeling was mutual. They were both so warm, open and funny that it made every second of working with them enjoyable. Everything we did with them throughout the day seemed to just be in perfect sync.
We had mutually decided upon nearby Long’s Park as the ideal first look location after we found it online as an option, and they scouted it out in person, and upon arriving on site it could not have been more perfect. The trees were just starting to turn, and the clouds were out during the actual first look portion, making for nice even lighting. The sun popped out for just enough time for us to use as backlighting for portraits of them and their bridal party. Then, as if on cue, our declaration of “that’s a wrap!” was punctuated with an ominous thunder clap signaling an approaching storm cell. Thankfully, the deluge of rain started moments after we were safely back in the hotel.
Although the ceremony had to be slightly delayed to allow the guests time to get in to the hotel through the heavy rain, it did not deter a moment of fun for this happy couple. A beautiful evening was enjoyed by all, and we wish these two years of happiness!
