Some days everything just aligns perfectly. We had originally scheduled Carly and Ryan’s engagement portraits for the week prior, but when we got an unexpected cold front, we chatted with the clients about rescheduling to the following week, which we hoped would be better. (side note- if you are a professional photographer you get used to this! Half the job is embracing the unexpected).
Early in the afternoon of the rescheduled date, the sky became overcast and the winds were picking up a bit, and we were worrying that maybe we had made the wrong call, but hopped in the car anyway to try.
As we got closer to New Hope, we couldn’t help but to notice how incredibly beautiful the foliage was looking, it was definitely at it’s peak. Then about 15 minutes before we were supposed to arrive the clouds started to clear a little bit, and by the time we hopped out of the car to meet Carly and Ryan it was like we had stepped in to heaven. The sun was shining, and perfectly back lighting the abundance of colorful foliage in every direction, and the winds had died down to a gentle breeze that set golden leaves floating down at perfect intervals. It was one of those days that reminds you how awesome it is to be alive.
To top it all off, we had one of the most fun times we’ve ever had on a portrait session. Carly and Ryan were so laid back and game for any suggestion we had, that it made for an incredible creative chemistry. The amazing back drop that only an autumn in the northeast could provide, and lack of other pedestrians, made it easy to find prime photo spots every few feet. Most importantly, the laughter was abundant as we quickly discovered that we had the same sixth grade sense of humor as Carly and Ryan 🙂 That’s plenty of rambling from us, as I think the pictures speak for themselves. We just wanted to be sure we took a moment to express how grateful we are that this is how we spend our time.
