Since Aaron and Yuchen currently reside in warm and sunny Florida, one of the things they miss the most from their time living in Pennsylvania is watching the brilliant display of foliage as the leaves change colors in the fall. When Yuchen lamented that they wouldn’t get to see this natural phenomenon this year, Aaron, who had gone through several proposal ideas and had been saving a special engagement ring for Yuchen for months, realized this would be the perfect opportunity to surprise his lucky lady.
Aaron quickly reached out to us, and we were luckily able to squeeze in some plans for a quiet Sunday morning proposal at a place very special to Aaron and Yuchen, Longwood Gardens. We weren’t sure when the peak of the fall colors would be, but we took a guess, and we could not have planned it better.
We barely had time to get in to position before Aaron and Yuchen strolled around the bend, and Aaron started telling Yuchen how special she was to him and dropped to one knee. A very surprised and ecstatic Yuchen said yes, and they were so excited about becoming engaged that none of us noticed he had actually slipped the ring on the wrong hand! We spent a little more time exploring Longwood for a few more posed photos, before Aaron whisked Yuchen off to the Top of the Tower in Philadelphia where he had a second surprise waiting for Yuchen- a champagne toast overlooking the city, where they were joined by both their families.
We were so excited to have been a part of helping to document this beautiful proposal and wish Aaron and Yuchen many happy years together!
