Micro Wedding at Valley Green Inn | Diana & Ed

Diana and Ed’s micro wedding at Valley Green Inn embraced 2020 with a shortened guest list, an outdoor ceremony and reception, and various safety protocols.  I always love photographing weddings at Valley Green Inn located in Wissahickon Valley Park, Philadelphia, and it was fun to work with such an easy going couple. Scroll on to see the story of their wedding from my perspective…

We started photo coverage at Diana’s mom’s house, and she was getting ready with her family.   Then we headed over to Penn Campus in Philadelphia (where they originally met) to photography a ‘first look’ and some bridal portraits around the campus.

We all hopped in their limo and headed over to Valley Green Inn, to make some more bride and groom pictures and also meet up with the bridal party and families so we could finish up those group shots as well, before the ceremony.

Doing those portrait sessions and group photos before the ceremony was the smart plan, since it does get rather dark quickly down there in that valley, even a few hours before sunset.  Moving on to the ceremony, they had a self-uniting ceremony, where there is no true ‘officiant’ and guests are encouraged to stand up and say something nice about the couple and offer some advice as they move forward into married life.

Their cocktail hour was next and then their reception, and as the night set in we all enjoyed a nice dinner while watching their dances and toasts.

They had this little fire pit area set up and it sure was tempting to just grab a s’more and toast it up on the fire…. but did I partake in the s’more’s? One will never know.
