Here’s a look at my favorite images from Lauren and Justin’s wedding. It was really a blast to play my part of documenting their wedding day story, and with all the event rescheduling during 2020 I also have to say that I am thankful to be back photographing weddings and doing what I love. I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to cover their unique and amazing wedding day!
Keep scrolling to see my favorite moments from their wedding. First we started out covering their separate bridal crews getting ready, and with their crews of best friends things went from quiet to rowdy pretty fast…
Then it was time to set up a couple of ‘first looks’. Lauren’s Dad and brother got to see her first, and then moments later her entire family was choking back the tears when they saw her as a beautiful bride!
Lauren had an interesting idea for a first look with Justin, where they would just say ‘Hi’ and touch hands without him actually turning around or seeing her. What a cool moment, check it out below.
Then after that, we used the rest of the time prior to their ceremony to snap a few portraits, a few candid moments, and just relax in the air conditioning before it was time to head out into the sunny and warm wedding ceremony site.
It was then time to head outside to their wedding ceremony and start documenting what would occur. The area was setup beautifully, in a large open field that had a natural hill shape facing the stage, a bit like an amphitheater…. so we all settled in for a nice show.
As Lauren approached the altar, her Dad and Justin were doing everything in their power to hold back the tears, it was definitely a potent moment and so fun to capture in photos when people react like this!
Their ceremony was really nice, and they had one of their best friends officiating the wedding.
After that, we got their bridal party together in the little bit of shade over by the barn area, and used the time during the cocktail hour for the bridal party group pictures, family group pictures, and a few newlywed portraits.
Then it was time to head inside for their wedding reception, and for me to capture a few details of the place and get ready for their grand entrance.
Next was their first dance, which was really beautiful.
Then followed by some parent dances.
There were some thoughtful and colorful toasts that followed the dances.
After that I just looked around the room for some candid moments during their dinner, and while people were dancing. They cut the cake as the last big event of the night.
A bit after sunset, we headed back outside for a little night time bride and groom portrait session. I thought these early evening pictures were an interesting contrast to the much brighter images that we took a couple hours earlier in the same spot, and good way to end the evening.
