Lots of couples have a funny story about how crazy their wedding day was, but Heather and Mario’s wedding was literally a Zoo. Combining the rigorous structure and planning inherent to a wedding day, with the spontaneity of the unpredictable nature of animals, was the perfect parallel to the unique dynamic of Heather and Mario’s relationship. Mario, a lawyer, met Heather, a physical therapist and classically trained dancer while they were both studying at Temple University.
Luckily things at Heather and Mario’s Elmwood Park Zoo wedding mostly stuck according to plan, with just the right amount of surprises –most notably a giraffe with a wandering tongue itching for the taste of some fresh wedding flowers. The bride and groom and their guests had an absolute blast getting a chance to see these beautiful creatures close up after hours in between all the typical wedding day events like portraits and dances, and we know for sure that this is only the beginning of Heather and Mario’s wild adventure together.
The day before their wedding, we covered Heather and Mario’s wedding rehearsal dinner at Maple Acres Farm Market, where we got to know everyone who would be attending the wedding on the following day, and also got to enjoy some amazing BBQ food.
